In keeping with the countryโs revered tradition, the Central Monastic Body, led by the Dorji Lopen, arrived at Puna-Dewa-Chenpoi-Phodrang from Thimphu today for their winter residence.
The entourage took a night halt at Thinleygang before arriving here today.
Hundreds of people received blessings from the sacred relics along the way.
The tradition of maintaining separate summer and winter residences dates back to the time of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel in the early 17th century.
