The Dzongkhag Kidu Office, Punakha successfully organized the Awarding of His Majesty’s Certificates of Academic Excellence for student toppers of the academic year 2024.
Unlike previous years, this year’s program was organized in three groups across three different schools to inspire and motivate students to strive for greater academic excellence.
Group 1: Punakha Central School
- 22 toppers from: Punakha CS, Khuruthang MSS, Kabesa MSS, Ugyen Academy, Logodama PS, Tshochasa PS, Lakhu PS
Group 2: Dashiding HSS
- 14 toppers from: Dashiding HSS, Dechentsemo CS, Lobesa LSS, Thinleygang LSS, Tahogang PS, CNR
Group 3: Tashidingkha CS
- 14 toppers from: Tashidingkha CS, Shengana LSS, Bjibjokha LSS, Mendhagang PS, Nawakha PS, Wolathang PS
Each event began with the reception of Hon’ble Dasho Dzongdag, offering of butter lamps, recitation of Zhabten, and the formal awarding of certificates.
After the awarding of certificates, Hon’ble Dasho Dzongdag addressed the participants in each event. In his inspiring address, Dasho Dzongdag reminded students of His Majesty The King’s tireless efforts for the youth and urged them to:
- Work diligently and embrace lifelong learning
- Upgrade their skills in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Nurture their unique talents – citing the Bollywood movie “Taare Zameen Par” as a reminder that success comes in many forms
- Uphold humility, service, and responsibility
- Prepare for Gyalsuung – National Service and embrace E2B 10X services for a capable future
The events concluded with a group photo session and serving of suja and desi, creating a warm and celebratory atmosphere for students, parents, and teachers.
